A Cohort-Based Travel + Mentorship Experience
Avandra Foundation’s Impact Journeys are intentionally structured experiences that blend volunteer engagement with iconic cultural exploration. Each cohort travels together, prepares together, and returns home with a shared commitment to community impact.
Avandra’s Impact Journeys include:
Small, intentional travel cohorts (typically 10 participants)
Experienced, vetted mentors traveling alongside participants
Pre-departure cohort sessions focused on cultural understanding and preparation
120+ hours of documented local volunteer commitment prior to travel
Sliding-scale financial model to expand access

How It Works: A Structured Path to Impact
Our process ensures that each journey is earned, prepared for, and responsibly executed, creating meaningful impact for participants and the communities they engage with.
1: Apply to be a Fellow or Mentor
Interested participants and mentors submit an application outlining their experience, commitment to service, and alignment with the Foundation’s mission.
2: Join a Cohort
Selected participants join a small, guided cohort and complete required community service hours and a financial eligibility review. Mentors undergo screening and background checks.
3: Travel with Purpose
Each Impact Journey blends structured volunteer engagement with curated cultural exploration, guided by experienced mentors.
4: Give Back Locally
Participants return home with a continued commitment to service, applying what they’ve learned within their own communities.
